The Center for Career & Life Planning at Rollins College is seeking an Associate Director of Employer & Alumni Connections to join their team! The Associate Director of Employer & Alumni Connections is a full-time staff member whose primary responsibility will be to create a robust employer and alumni engagement strategy to enhance the employer recruitment program for students and graduates.

This role will focus on cultivating and expanding employer partnership to source internships, mentorship, shadowing and job opportunities; plan and implement recruitment initiatives and events; establish and monitor campus recruitment policies; and oversee data collection and assessment of employer connection initiatives. The incumbent will work closely with on and off campus partners, such as students, faculty, administrators, alumni and friends of the college to provide robust professional and industry programming.

Position Preview:
Recruitment Program Strategy & Management

Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of recruitment programs to expand recruitment and networking activities (e.g., interviews, events, information sessions, campus visits, virtual events, fairs, site visits etc.) and opportunity postings.

Develop and implement strategies designed to increase employment and internship opportunities for students and graduates in Central Florida and other key markets.

Create, evaluate, and update employer recruiting policies and guidelines in accordance with professional association standards and industry best practices, with an emphasis on elevating DEI recruitment standards.

Provide leadership for recruitment events, including development of strategies for growing and attracting new organizations, working closely with partners and CCLP team in execution.

Help facilitate the connection between employers and faculty, staff, and student organizations for classroom/campus visits to maximize hiring/networking opportunities for students and alumni.

Oversee the management of the Handshake career management platform; coordinate the process for vetting and approving employers and jobs within Handshake.

Benchmark and conduct gap analysis of employer recruitment program and platform best practices and the development of new processes, procedures, policies, and metrics.

Engage with professional associations and other organizations to gain industry knowledge and operational best practices, as well as develop relationships with career services professionals and recruiters.

Hire, train, and supervise team of graduate assistants and student workers engaging in a variety of Employer & Alumni Connections initiatives and events.

Employer Development & Relationship Management

Develop and maintain employer relationships (including alumni, parents, and recruiters) and work to actively promote recruitment of our students and graduates.

Manage partnership with Alumni Engagement and Institutional Advancement to establish and deepen key partnerships with existing and new alumni professionals.

Assist employers in building their brands on campus in collaboration with CCLP and Crummer Career Resource Center staff; advise employers on marketing strategies and set expectations for applicants, event participation and student involvement; ensure adequate and creative marketing of employer postings and events.

Expand existing employer relationships through the recruitment lifecycle and conduct outreach to prospective employers.

Conduct industry research to develop in-depth understanding of the employment opportunities available and recruiting practices employed, as well as identify employer prospects.

Lead DEI related best practices research, including diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging in the workplace; develop strategy to identify and vet employers with notable DEI priorities and practices.

Seek employer feedback to assess quality of our services and student performance in the recruiting process, including outcomes.

Collaborate with campus partners and CCLP team to design career development content and events, and support recruitment of organization representatives (including alumni, parents, and recruiters) to participate.

Participate in various local, state, regional, and national organizations as well as networking and corporate events to gain industry knowledge and operational best practices, as well as develop new recruiting relationships.

Operations & Data Management

Develop and maintain a system designed to track the effectiveness of the recruitment program (e.g., postings, employer surveys, hiring outcomes, etc.) and analyze data to make necessary improvements, in collaboration with CCLP leadership.

Communicate employer feedback about student readiness and industry recruiting trends with CCLP team to inform career preparation initiatives and education.

Create and implement tracking process for quarterly and annual assessment and reporting.

Coordinate data collection in alignment with institutional data management efforts to ensure data integrity and consistency.

Utilize Handshake online recruiting platform and related software, as well as customer relationship management platforms (ThankQ, Hivebrite) used in other departments (IA/AU) to access and record alumni and employer data.

Utilize the Handshake online recruiting platform and related software to ensure data and operational accuracy, consistency, and integrity; stay informed and communicate platform updates to CCLP staff.

Additional Responsibilities & Support

Support Gateway programming, strategy and implementation through cross-departmental collaboration, integration of Gateway language into CCLP programming, and support helping students identify and articulate their Gateway experiences.

Assist with providing one-on-one career counseling for students and alumni with all phases of basic career development including self-assessment, major exploration, graduate school preparation, career and industry research, identification of appropriate internship opportunities, networking, and job search skill development.

Conduct career development workshops on resume writing, interview skills, job/internship search strategies, graduate school exploration and admission, networking and other career guidance topics as necessary.

Assist with document critiques for students and alumni, such as resumes/cover letters, personal statements, scholarship applications, etc.

Represent the college and the CCLP team through community and industry involvement in order to maintain and enhance the reputation of Rollins, expand partnerships, enhance career readiness, and improve employability outcomes for students and graduates.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in human resources, business management, or related discipline.

2-4 years of experience in career services or recruiting.

Familiarity with latest trends and best practices pertaining to career development and employer relations.

Awareness of legal issues as they pertain to employment practices within the US.

Understanding of international student population needs and legal issues pertaining to their curricular and optional practical training (OPT and CPT).

Understanding of and familiarity with multiple areas of professional development pertaining to the job search, application and interview process, including job searching, networking, personal branding, resume and cover letter writing, as well as interviewing techniques.

Ability to develop and deliver presentations to a wide range of audiences, including traditionally and non-traditionally aged students, parents, employers, faculty and staff.

Ability to effectively interact with a diverse population of students, alumni, staff, faculty, and employers.

Ability to provide career advising and support to students and alumni of all genders, race, ethnicity, veteran status and backgrounds.

Excellent assessment skills including data collection, tabulation, and analysis of programming and employer relations outcomes reports.

Understanding of and familiarity with social media marketing and event promotion.

Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative work style, with excellent written and oral communication skills.

High level of maturity, professionalism, and diplomacy.

Strong organization and project management skills.

Strong technical skills, including software setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Service excellence focus with commitment to meeting the unique needs of students, alumni employers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.

Possess a valid driver's license, or ability to obtain an Florida driver's license within 30 days of accepting the job, and acceptable MVR are required.
