What We're Looking For

The Managing Director of Stewardship will lead and coordinate the University's donor stewardship strategy, ensuring a best-in-industry experience for donors across all giving levels, including major gifts and annual giving. This role will collaborate closely with colleagues across Advancement to design, implement, and evaluate stewardship initiatives that express gratitude, demonstrate impact, and deepen donor engagement and loyalty. The Managing Director will provide strategic leadership for recognition programs, impact reporting, donor communications, and event-based stewardship efforts.

A bachelor's degree and three years of relevant work experience are required. A master's degree and five years of relevant work experience in donor relations and stewardship programming, with a demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and work effectively across teams is preferred.

This position is based in Waco, TX.

Must be able to travel to meet with donors and attend events as needed.

Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a Full-Time basis.

What You Will Do
  • Design and implement comprehensive, donor-centric stewardship programs that enhance the donor experience across all giving levels, with particular focus on major gifts and annual giving.
  • Partner with Major Gifts, Annual Giving, Alumni Engagement, and Advancement Communications to ensure consistent, coordinated, and personalized stewardship efforts.
  • Coordinate the identification, approval, documentation, and execution of physical naming opportunities in alignment with university policies, collaborating with facilities, departments, and Advancement leadership to ensure accurate donor recognition and a seamless implementation process.
  • Utilize donor data and reporting tools to assess the effectiveness of stewardship efforts, identify opportunities for improvement, and support personalized engagement strategies.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and professional development to stewardship staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture aligned with the university's mission and values.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission.
  • Ability to comply with University policies.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
