Position Summary
Assumes responsibility for engaging alumni in a variety of ways to strengthen the relationship between fellow alumni, current students and the University. Seeks to develop volunteer opportunities, events and other participate in individual meetings which lead to the growth of the alumni network and increased participation in giving back to the University. Focuses activity and outreach on specific alumni groups as assigned by the Director and creates partnerships across the University to support related alumni work. Performs all duties in full support of the University's mission, understanding that the positive and effective execution of these duties are instrumental to the education of the University's students.

Hiring Range
Budgeted starting salary is $50,000 to $53,500, depending upon experience

Key Responsibilities
  • Establishes, cultivates, and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external constituents in an effort to identify and recruit alumni volunteers who will assist in the development and implementation of alumni engagement programs.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of programming and recommends and/or implements improvements as needed.
  • Provides support and guidance to alumni who assume volunteer leadership roles in their area of interest or affinity. Creates regular communications and outreach in an effort to promote events, programs and volunteer opportunities. Works effectively with a broad and diverse alumni base both in-person and through a variety of communication channels. Develops and launches new programs as resources allow. Strategically positions those activities to ensure effective exposure and participation across target markets.
  • Conducts personal visits with volunteers and alumni to gain feedback and explore opportunities for future engagement, volunteer service and program support. Understands the strategic outcomes of broadening alumni relationships through this outreach and effectively utilizes tools to inform strategy around who to connect with and how to further their engagement with the University. Records, tracks and measures activity to achieve goals and positively impact participation metrics. Develops appropriate follow-up steps to strengthen and grow relationships between alumni and the University.
  • Collaborates with Development and Alumni Affairs staff in all departments in order to support efforts in advancement communications, development and the continued enhancement of our data and alumni records. Properly utilizes technology and resources to partner effectively to support the overall strategic vision of the department and University.
  • Represents the University when engaging with alumni and/or other constituents.
  • Assists with and attends University events and functions, including but not limited to, Hawktober and Commencement weekends, representing Alumni Engagement/Development and Alumni Affairs as necessary and/or appropriate.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
