Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant 3 for the College of Business. ***This position does not provide layoff rights and is contingent upon funding.

The College of Business Administrative Assistant 3 is responsible for supporting the College of Business Dean's Office, the Small Business Development Center and the Center for Economic Development with all grants and projects. Duties include general office management; first-line triage for questions, problems, complaints; processing of financial transactions, travel transactions and fixed- fee agreements; developing grant budgets; monitoring and reporting of grants and fixed-fee agreements; organizing of workshops and conferences; entering and compiling data for analysis; meeting federal reporting requirements; and provide general human resource and administrative support.

Required Qualifications

This position requires graduation from high school or equivalent education and three (3) years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Schedule

The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.

Compensation Grade

Grade 27 (Entry, Step 01 $17.80/hr. - Step 04 $20.11/hr.)

In classified service, salary is in Grade and Step. The Step is determined based on the Nevada Administrative Code. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment, the candidate's qualifications, internal equity and budgets. A request to accelerate salary must be approved by Human Resources and abide by the Nevada Administrative Code.
