With the School having recently celebrated its 75th year, now is the time to be involved, engaged and committed to celebrating past achievements and paving the way for future endeavors.
Reporting directly to the Senior Director, Development for the UCLA Samueli School of Engineering, the Director of Development is responsible for developing, coordinating and executing long- and short-term strategies to secure major gifts from individuals, alumni and other entities in support of the school's mission and strategic plan. Both independently, and in coordination with other members of the staff, the Director of Development will manage a portfolio of prospects and donors and will strategically identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major gifts to the School. This will include regular travel to regions with large populations of UCLA Samueli alumni and parents and will be conducted both independently and as part of staffing the Dean and School leadership on cultivation and solicitation visits. The Director will have knowledge of gift vehicles including planned, capital, blended and major/principal gifts to secure philanthropic support for the School. This individual will serve as a liaison between External Affairs and one or more student and/or academic departments within the school and meet with faculty in priority areas to gain knowledge of research, expertise and funding needs. The Director will have demonstrated experience with volunteer boards and/or advisory committees to participate in the recruitment and development of the Dean's Executive Board. This individual will work closely and collaboratively with a wide variety of internal and external constituents across the School, University and beyond to increase engagement and overall philanthropic support for UCLA Samueli.
