Job Description:

SUNY Orange is currently seeking a Director of Grants to join the Workforce Development, Strategy, and Innovation Division. This role will be apart of our department for Institutional Advancement.

Reporting to the Vice President for Workforce, Strategy and Innovation, the Director of Grants is responsible for all areas of grant sourcing and proposal development. This includes collaborating and regularly communicating with members of the college community (especially the Provost, Vice Presidents, Academic Associate Vice Presidents, Academic Department Chairs, and the Planning, Budgeting for Institutional Effectiveness Committee [PBIE]) to identify needs and priorities for which to source grant funding.

The Director of Grants is responsible for researching and identifying funding sources, developing proposals, engaging staff and faculty in the grant writing process, providing technical support to staff and faculty involved in a grant application, and providing training for proposal development. The Director of Grants is also responsible for maintaining all aspects of grant-related recordkeeping and ensuring that the College is in compliance with all federal and state requirements. This role will ensure that the College is meeting the agreed upon deliverables and expectations for each grant. The Director of Grants will collaborate with subject matter experts and the SUNY Orange Foundation to help identify private and public funding sources that may be potential prospects for the various campaigns.

Travel between the college's two campuses and other sites is required.


Requirements:

Education Required:
Bachelor's degree or higher.

Experience Required: Three (3) years of grant writing or multi-grant management experience; One (1) year of experience researching or sourcing grant funding. Supervisory experience and proficiency in Microsoft Suite.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:

Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Marketing or Journalism.
Master's degree.
Experience with grant management software.
Experience analyzing and submitting grant requests for proposals (RFPs).
Grant writing experience for an educational institution.
Ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with supervising personnel, coworkers, all college employees and the public.
Ability to manage multiple projects.
Bilingual skills.


Additional Information:

Salary: $62,256-$91,000 per annum, commensurate with experience. This is a 12 month, Staff & Chair, Grade 70 position.
