Job Description:
This is an opportunity to be at the forefront of building equity in healthcare. The Chicago School's expansion into integrated health through the College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM). The Director of Institutional Giving will be a part of a renowned institution's growth in Chicago with impact on the quality of and access to healthcare, and economic development in the city and beyond.
The position is charged with identifying trends in giving, generating new ideas for engagement, and forming close relationships with local, regional, and select national funders . The successful candidate will be highly collaborative, adept at networking and forming relationships, and exude a positive and upbeat demeanor. The individual must be committed to the mission of the University and the COM, have excellent communications skills, and demonstrate effective leadership internally and with the greater Chicago community. The Director of Institutional Giving will be a person of integrity, character, and sound judgment and, above all, dedicated to the mission and values of The Chicago School.
The Director will have demonstrated success in, and a commitment to creating and promoting a diverse, inclusive and equitable workplace environment. This person will have experience managing in large organizations and be able to powerfully deliver pertinent fundraising messages to members of the University, potential partners, funders and in the Chicago surrounding communities. The candidate will be successful in empowering constituents to give, while engendering new ideas to raise funds for the University's COM. The Director will tell stories in a compelling manner and exhibit ingenuity when it comes to raising funds in all areas with an emphasis on individual major gifts.
The Director of Institutional Giving works with the Associate Vice President, Institutional Advancement, along with The Chicago School leadership and senior campaign volunteers, to set major-gift and program sustainability goals and priorities to further sustainability as part of launching the new COM initiative.
The Director of Institutional Giving sits on the AVP's team, working collaboratively to advance the launch of the COM along with the goals of the Office of Institutional Advancement and Alumni Relations. Additionally, this individual serves as lead, coach, advisor and strategist with leadership, faculty and staff on the identification, cultivation, solicitation, closure and stewardship of major gift, corporate and foundation donors, and functions as an essential partner in the success of launch of the COM.
The duration of this position is expected to be one year from the date of hire. This is a hybrid role. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. The environment is occasionally fast-paced and deadline-driven. Work hours will vary depending on proposal and other institutional deadlines. Workweeks may exceed the standard 37.5 hours.

Compensation & Benefits
This opportunity is budgeted at $135,000 - $150,000 base compensation. Additional compensation factors may impact total compensation.
