The UCLA Fielding School of Public Health (FSPH) is serving our local communities, and the world, by training future leaders and health professionals from diverse backgrounds, conducting innovative research and translating research into policy and practice. The COVID-19 pandemic has thrust public health to center stage, and FSPH is at the forefront of addressing present challenges while preparing for the future. UCLA is seeking a dedicated and driven Senior Director of Development to raise the funds needed to deliver the best in public health.

This position calls for a strategic visionary who thrives in a complex and collaborative environment to lead and manage annual fund and alumni relations staff. Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Development and Alumni Affairs, the Senior Director will be responsible for qualifying, cultivating and soliciting major individual prospects up to $100,000.This individual will also lead and manage annual fund and alumni relations staff focused on annual level individual gifts up to $100,000, alumni giving campaigns and engagement, and stewardship implementation

An expert in building and sustaining the relationships that lead to major gift fundraising success, you will oversee a sophisticated and creative stewardship program that inspires donors to consistent and greater giving and acknowledges the non-monetary contributions and success of FSPH alumni and friends. You will collaborate with the dean, gift officers, faculty and key administrators and members of the school's board of advisors to increase the number and size of gifts from individuals and family foundations.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five to seven years of progressively responsible development experience, including experience making cold calls, resilience in dealing with initial rejection and a record of major gifts closed. Working with Health Sciences Development, Central Development and within the School, you will develop sophisticated strategies in planning, implementing and administering complex major gift solicitations. As someone with outstanding interpersonal skills, you will host VIP visitors and coordinate and staff donor visits.
