Location: San Francisco State University

Time Base: Full Time

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday; from 8:00am to 5:00pm

Anticipated Hiring Range: $4,800 - $5,000 Per Month ($57,600 - $60,000 Annually)

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree (marketing, public relations, communication, business administration, or related field); OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Higher education fundraising experience preferred
Experience working with Microsoft Office products.

Position Description

Job Summary

The Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing initiatives to identify, cultivate, and solicit prospective donors to ensure a strong base of ongoing financial support for the University from individuals, alumni, and our general community. The Coordinator supports the Annual Giving and Alumni Relations teams by coordinating event details and sponsorships. In addition, the coordinator will share responsibility in supporting gift processing, maintaining excellent donor records, and practicing proactive donor relations as related to annual giving and the University as a whole.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Director of Annual Giving, execute coordinated communication and solicitation strategies involving email, direct mail, phone and social media all focused on increasing baseline levels of annual support for the College.
  • Participate in creation of a strategic plan for the annual fund, including direct marketing strategies, solicitation schedules, and direct reach outs.
  • Enter, evaluate, and report data for the ongoing evaluation of annual fund programs using Blackbaud.
  • Partner with the Annual Giving, Alumni Relations and Events to create messages, themes, and materials for fundraising/events that are in compliance with the SF State's brand.
  • Oversee Alumni efforts and activities to recruit and engage Alumni.
  • Support the college's Alumni Relations program and Alumni Association including the planning and execution of alumni and other University related events.
  • Work with Advancement team to create a comprehensive marketing strategy and plan for events;
    Utilize Blackbaud donor software to create event registrations, track guest lists, and maintain key information related to guests.
  • Develop and prepares event materials such as programs, signs, banners, apparel and other event related items.
  • Develop and secures all event logistics requisitions, event setup and equipment requirement
    Actively contributes to a work environment that embraces inclusiveness, racial and gender equity, and diverse perspectives.
  • Coordinate the purchasing activities and oversee the accounts payable transactions to ensure invoices are paid and claims are reimbursed.
  • Serve as a liaison with vendors, including working cooperatively with other departments to ensure the contracts are executed promptly and the required documentations for special events are filed properly.
  • Provide assistance on scheduling, calendaring and making travel arrangements.

    Related Responsibilities:

  • Attend Advancement and Alumni events including nights and weekends.
  • Represent San Francisco State University at selected college and community events.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director for Advancement and College Relations.

    Surroundings/Environment:
    Standard office environment, usually indoors away from the elements, with moderate noise.

    Physical Effort:
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to maintain a stationary position for an extended period; move about the office, operate and position computers and files, as needed; and frequently communicate with others. The employee may occasionally move up to 25 pounds. Work may include operation of a motor vehicle.

    Scheduling:
    This is a full-time position. Normal working hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday; however, must be available to work occasionally on weekends and evenings. Option to work from home two days a week.

    Travel:
    Local travel is required, including between campus locations. Out of state travel is limited but may be required for special trainings/conferences.
