The UCLA Eli and Edythe Broad Center of Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research (Broad Stem Cell Research Center (BSCRC)) is revolutionizing the treatment of disease through personalized cellular therapies and regenerative medicine. This multidisciplinary campus-wide research organization - with faculty representing more than 30+ academic disciplines - supports innovation, excellence, and the highest ethical standards in bringing groundbreaking stem cell research discoveries from the laboratory to the patient as part of revolutionizing the treatment of disease. The Center is seeking a Director of Development to manage a robust fundraising program and attract private support that drives this innovative work.

In this role, you will work collaboratively with the Executive Director of Development, Health Sciences and the Center's academic and administrative leadership, to establish and implement goals and objectives for the Center's development program and coordinate strategies for fundraising, stewardship, cultivation and development communications. As Director, you will develop annual operating plans and evaluate progress towards achieving goals. You will personally manage a portfolio of major gift prospects, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major gift donors. You will embody a creative and entrepreneurial spirit, be a strong self-starter and thrive on building and stewarding relationships through a strong donor and volunteer service mentality. In addition, you will be an inspiring team leader and mentor providing supervision and management of the Center's development team enabling them success and professional growth.

As an ideal candidate for this role, you will possess a minimum three to five years of progressively responsible development experience with an emphasis on major gift fundraising and/or prior professional experience in a related field working with solicitations of similar scope, nature and complexity. You will bring to the role your excellent written and oral communication skills, exceptional interpersonal skills and experience in developing sophisticated strategies for the successful identification, cultivation and solicitation of annual and major gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations. Experience participating in strategic planning, the ability to navigate and be effective within a highly matrixed organization as well as outstanding organizational skills are essential for this role. In addition, you will able to understand and translate diverse academic research topics and their relevance clearly and succinctly translate faculty research and its relevance to potential donors.
